Setting-up Simulations

This section is a guideline for the novice user of GENESIS 1.3 to set up the main input correctly so that reasonable results can be obtained. It does not cover all aspects of GENESIS 1.3. For a more complete reference please check the sections on the input parameters of the main input deck and the usage of additional input and output files. Certain parameters are not mentioned in this section. If they are omitted in the input deck they fall back to their default values. To obtain a valid input deck in the first place start GENESIS 1.3 and type at the prompt the filename of a non-existing file. The template file 'template.in' is generated, which can be edited by any text-editor.
