6/29/12

New version of genesis has been uploaded to remove the latest known bugs

5/15/12

A web forum has been created to allow discussion about genesis of users and developer. The website can be found here:

Version 2.0 has been released. As new feature, Genesis supports harmonics and allows for a simplified modeling of cascading FEL including the support of generic bunch compressors and any kind of transport matrices. The performance in the parallel version has been improved as well and allow for the output of binaries. Note that the new version requires also a new version of the post-processor XGENESIS

9/30/05

The mpi version of Genesis is released. To avoid a split of the source code distribution the mpi is included in the basic package. It requires that some files have to be copied and renamed to compile Genesis correctly. The README file in the distribution gives more information. In addition the import of a particle distribution file has been slightly improved if a bunch compressor is applied. For more flexibity the compressor is now tuned for zero phase slippage to the energy, defined by the new input parameter IGAMREF. If IGAMREF is not defined it uses the value of GAMMA0.

A MPI-Version of Genesis is currently in its beta-testing phase and will be released soon.

2/18/05

When the FODO cell length is twice as long than the undulator module, Genesis place a module now in each drift section and not one, as it was before. This is ignored when the FODO lattice and modules are defined by an external file.

1/20/05

Genesis supports now undulator module offsets. They can be defined either in the main input file or the magnetic field file. In the main input file the corresponding parameters are AWX and AWY defining the range [-AWX,AWX] in meters within the undulator modules are randomly, uniformily distributed. The tags in the magnetic input file are AX and AY, respecticely

12/13/04

The program genwake to calculate undulator wakefields, supported by genesis 1.3, and the latest version of the post-processor has been put on the 3rd Party Program site.

12/11/04

Website updated.

12/10/04

A new release of Genesis 1.3 has been made public. Most of the new features are supporting HGHG simulations and are documented in the updated manual. The website will be updated soon.

An updated version of the manual is available.
